Overview

 

 A Special Hauling Permit allows for the movement of overweight and oversized vehicles on the New York State Thruway. Vehicles traveling the NYS Thruway that are greater than 10' wide must obtain a Special Hauling Permit from the Thruway Over-Dimensional Permit System (TOPS) and have a valid E-ZPass tag in the vehicle. A Special Hauling Permit must be obtained prior to traveling on the Thruway.
