Terminal Operator License
This license allows the operation of a terminal to store motor fuel which is imported into New York State. This page provides information about the license and access to the registration application for obtaining a license.Overview
A terminal is a motor fuel or diesel motor fuel storage facility with a storage capacity of 50,000 gallons or more, excluding any facility where motor fuel or diesel motor fuel is stored solely for its retail sale.
You must apply for registration as a terminal operator if:

Application Processing Comments: Generally approval is issued within 30–45 days; however, if additional information or documentation is required, an additional 15–30 days may be needed to receive and review the additional information.
Common Denial Reasons: insufficient information; failure to post bond; outstanding tax liabilities; poor compliance history.

1. Bonding is a performance or security bond for $10,000.2. The agency can reject the application without approving or disapproving it.
3. The agency has an appeal process for a denied application.
4. The license must be posted in your place of business.
